International Women’s Day – Women Who Shaped Champagne History

In March, our Champagne tasting is dedicated to three extraordinary women who left a lasting mark on the world of Champagne.

Visionaries, entrepreneurs, and pioneers – they showed courage in times of change and created styles that are still celebrated worldwide today.  With this selection, we honour not only their legacy, but also their spirit: innovation, elegance and the strength to forge new paths.

Three houses, three remarkable women – and three distinctive expressions of Champagne.

This special is available as a private tasting throughout March.

Three Champagne houses that tell stories of courage, vision, and passion.

Madame Pommery - The Creator of Brut Champagne

In the 19th century, Louise Pommery took over the House of Pommery and transformed the Champagne industry. At a time when sweet Champagne dominated the market, she introduced the first “Brut” Champagne in 1874 – dry, refined, and modern.

With this bold decision, she laid the foundation for the style of Champagne we know and appreciate today.

Madame Clicquot The Grande Dame of Champagne

Barbe-Nicole Clicquot led the House of Veuve Clicquot at the age of just 27. Her innovative spirit made history: she developed the riddling table (remuage), still a key element of Champagne production today.

She also perfected the production of rosé Champagne. Her name remains synonymous with pioneering excellence and timeless elegance.

Carol Duval-Leroy - Moderne Eleganz und Nachhaltigkeit

Carol Duval-Leroy shaped her family house with a clear, contemporary vision. Under her leadership, Duval-Leroy gained international recognition for outstanding quality, precision and a strong commitment to sustainability.

She bridges tradition and innovation, representing the modern generation of successful women in Champagne.
